Mazes Through the Ages

Live on the Hedge!
The maze garden has finally opened, and with it comes a brand new library exhibit. Be sure to stop in to see Mazes Through the Ages, featuring prints and rare books from the Suzette Morton Davidson Special Collections of the Sterling Morton Library. The exhibit includes architectural drawings for the arboretum's own maze, and a special treat, a maze quilt created by library volunteer Moira Buhse.

Mazes Through the Ages opened on May 17 with an evening lecture by Peggy Pelkonen, who entertained us with a brief history of the development of the maze, finishing up with an overview of the hedge maze here at the arboretum and how it was constructed.
The exhibit will continue through the summer, closing on August 16.
